THE MAKING OF A NEW FITNESS SPORT!

By the end of 2001 our dream had finally come true – the plans for a new fitness sport, STRENFLEX™, were on their way! Based on the three pillars of the fitness concept – strength, endurance and flexibility – a competition program was finally outlined: it considers the demands and requirements of many trained people (of any age) and also presents the competition course clearly and excitingly to the public.

GOALS OF THE STRENFLEX™ ORGANISATION

A lot of ladies and gentlemen between 18 and 80 years of age would willingly participate in the Fitness championships if it weren’t for several problematic obstacles such as backflips or the bodywatching show in general. The present fitness championships have got very little in common with sport. But now the STRENFLEX™ organisation will finally consider the many active women and men in the fitness clubs and offer them a new type of sport that can be easily trained in any gym or even at home. Bench presses, dips, chin-ups, rope skipping, stretching, etc. are just a few of the exercises taken from the approx. ten categories in the STRENFLEX™ fitness sport competition.

This seven champions are together 395 years old

Jürg Plattner (54), Ueli Schweizer (52), Jean-Pierre Schupp (50), Heinz Häfeli (51), Peter Beutel (62), Rosmarie Thoma (60), Jürgen Detscher (66)

STRENFLEX™ ORGANISATION COMPETION CRITERIA

The minimum age required for the participation in the STRENFLEX™ fitness sport competitions is 18 (but competitions for teens are being planned, too). Four age categories and 10 weight classes will be competing. The STRENFLEX™ organisation will be offering an extensive starting field as far as this is concerned. The age classes are as follows:

In addition to the 10 weight classes there will be a "Open" category, too. The chronological order of the exercise categories will remain the same:

The titles that can be reached through the competition are the following:
